Kent Jarratt LCSW is a former President of NYSEPH. He is also a member of NYSEPH's faculty.
Kent is a Masters-level, licensed social worker who has a flexible and eclectic approach to treatment. He has been trained in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, with a specialty in hypnotherapy. A graduate of the Hunter College School of Social Work, Kent has 18 years' experience as a practicing therapist. He is licensed in New York and New Jersey.
He was Director of the Hypnotherapy Service of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies for seven years where he supervised other hypnotherapists.Kent has a certificate in the treatment of eating disorders from the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia, where he also teaches and supervises. As a staff consultant to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in New York City, he supervises graduate social work interns. He is also on the faculty of the New Directions Program of the Washington Psychoanalytic Foundation in Washington, D.C. and is the former editor of their journal.
